The Hotel,
The country house was built in the 17th Century, full of historic charm, large windows and many different function rooms. There is space for any size wedding. Guests will mingle in the Foya and bar area before returning to the ceremony/function room.
Pavillion
Completed a few years ago, the new Pavillion marquee was purposely created for weddings. The open-plan room keeps all your guests together in one area with an outdoor balcony and windows along the whole side of the venue overlooking the beautiful gardens.
Gardens
A popular option with a lot of couples is to, weather permitting, have your outdoor ceremony in the lovely gardens in the middle of the Hotel. The gardens sit right alongside the forest, making you feel at one with nature. The ceremony's focal point is in front of the steps down to the lower garden. The garden is only a few meters away from the Hotel and pavilion, making it wheelchair friendly.
Accommodation at the Mabie House Hotel Weddings

The venue is roughly 10 minutes from Dumfries, where you will find many other hotels and plenty of airbnb options in the countryside around the venue.
Best timing for your wedding.
The kind of wedding you picture and your personal preferences will determine the ideal time for a wedding at Mabie House Hotel.
While some couples might want a classic summer wedding, others might favour a smaller-scale winter wedding.
A summer wedding may be the most fantastic choice if you want to enjoy warmer temperatures and more daylight. The stunning gardens and outdoor areas at the Mabie House Hotel are perfect for a summer wedding. There are also a few months of the year when the venue sees a sunset directly over the gardens.
An autumnal or winter wedding may be the best option if you want to enjoy the stunning autumnal colours or the winter landscape blanketed in snow. With the warmth of the fires and the gorgeous decorations, winter weddings can be incredibly cosy, romantic, and small-scale.
Unique Locations for your couple's photos.
My favourite part of weddings is the couple's photos after the ceremony. Knowing the best places to go allows us to spend your time wisely and return you to your guests as quickly as possible. !
The grounds of Mabie House Hotel make it the ideal location for traditional photographs in the manicured lawns.
My favourite option is to go into the forest behind the venue, where you can find many unique locations filled with trees, wildlife and incredible viewpoints if you know where to look.
