Lake District Wedding Photography | Emma & Duncan New House Farm
Emma and Ducan are avid adventurous of the outdoors. So when it came to planning their elopement wedding, they knew they wanted to have a lake district wedding and lake district wedding photography too. They chose New House Farm, an idyllic venue set in the heart of the Lake District just a few miles away from Cockermouth. Set in the middle of a beautiful valley with mountains towering over them on either side they knew this was their dream location.
The weather was very kind to them both. During the ceremony, one of the blackest clouds I had ever seen rolled behind, luckily it completely missed us. They got married outside in the gorgeous surroundings of the Lake District National Park. We went down the picturesque Lake at the bottom of the road for their couples shoot, driving all the way down by a fantastic Land Rover. With all Lake District Wedding Photography, there are views everywhere you look. You cannot escape from it. Emma was the envy of all in her Cowboy Boots as we walked around the Lake for their couples shoot.
Emma & Duncan dressed the barn entirely by themselves and had lots of amazing details, including a homemade Dead or Alive Style Photobooth, a pick-up truck turned into a mobile bar. My favourite detail from the whole day was the bake-off competition they ran for all their guests; the table was brimming with treats, cakes and bread as far as the eye could see all with a very country and rustic vibe.
Emma wasn’t done with the surprises just yet. Once the speeches were complete, Emma and her fantastic bridesmaid played a few country songs to everyone. The room was silent, just listening to every word and note they both played together, indeed an excellent performance. We finished off the night with Ceilidh and a bit of Line Dancing too and made the most of that beautiful Golden Hour for a few more gorgeous couples portraits.
